19th March 2009 - Annual Festival organised by the Pembroke Local Council
through the collaboration of the Pembroke Athleta Football Nursery
This year’s edition of the annual festival was a special one due to the fact
that it was organised on the newly laid artificial turf at the Pembroke Athleta
Football Ground. The beautiful day together with the near perfect organisation
made this year’s edition one to remember.
In all seventeen teams participated made up of 4 teams x 2 in the Under 7 group,
5 teams in the Under 10 group and 4 teams in the Under 13 group. In all 212
children took part in this manifestation of football. Our Nursery partecipated
in the Under 7 and Under 13.
Good football and fair play were the protagonists and in the end all
participants were the winners as plenty of goals were scored in all Groups.
Presentation of Football Books funded by the Pembroke Local Council were made by
the Mayor, Mr. Joe Zammit, the vice Mayor Mr. Alfred Mazzitelli and councillor
Ms Evelyn Vella Brincat, at the end of the games.
